    Orange Dating: Developing Modern Java Web Applications

    Developing a Java web application can be considered too complex for most modern developers, mainly because Java has a reputation of being difficult and requiring lots of coding. However, there are modern tools and frameworks that are designed to facilitate the development of web applications in Java. These frameworks are focused on reducing the amount of code needed to make the basic functionality of an application. One of the frameworks used in this project is Spring. This framework provides a MVC architecture designed to facilitate the creation of a modern Java web application with a minimal configuration and code. This document describes an online dating system that was developed in a short time, using Spring framework and Semantic UI to achieve the goal of developing a whole system in a limited amount of time. The online dating system suggests friends based on answers to a questionnaire after the registration. The goal of the system is to make accurate suggestions to a user that is interested in identifying an ideal partner for a date. Key Terms – Java, Online Dating, Spring Framework, Web Application.

    Improving The Ordering Service Through An Android Application

    In today’s hectic world people are in a constant search to save time. In the service environment such as restaurants and bars people expect to have a fast and efficient service. But this is not the case in most establishments. This project tries to compensate for the slow ordering process and bring in an innovative and efficient system that will make the ordering process fun and fast. The developed system is an Android application that is meant to be placed in each of the establishment’s tables so that customers are able to place orders through the system. Any retail establishment wishes to increase their efficiency, availability, and capacity and with the proposed system they will be able to accomplish that.     Timesheet Management System Project

    The Timesheet Management System (TMS) is a web application composed of an n-tier architectural design that use ASP.NET framework and best practices in software engineering. Its purpose it’s to maintain track of clients, projects and their resources. IT Developers Group (ITDG), as a client in need of a management tool, required, not only to manage projects, but to improve the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process. Therefore, TMS allows ITDG to identify potential problems on time in the SDLC and complete their client projects on time. The application requires an invoice system to facilitate the finance department labor. Hence, hours consumed on the projects must be well documented for each employee (Developers, Analysts, Project Managers, Project Coordinators among others) to state milestones, progress and budgeted time which the systems provides through the use of different reports. All reports are carefully managed by stakeholders to ensure that ITDG clients receive quality service and a quick return of investment (ROI).     The Importance of Test and Student Supervision in High Schools through Web Applications

    This paper describes the importance of having a good high school supervision structure and of organizing adequately dates for test evaluations. Student’s supervisions consist of watching that all students are behaving according to the School’s Students Manual and that all rules are being followed. The main aim of this project is to establish a web-based application used for reserving test dates and for administrating student’s supervisions around the school campus. Teachers can easily get their test dates reserved as well as their supervision’s schedule. The recommendations from both, the teachers and the administration of Colegio San José de Rio Piedras (CSJ) have been united into this Information and Communication Technology (ICT) application. The ICT application was implemented and tested during holy week, and it proved to be an efficient and functional application. We have concluded that it has become useful for the students’ learning process and a comfortable, user-friendly application for the administrators and teachers’ daily routine.     Enhancing Mobile Enrollment Procedure using sProject

    The sProject is an umbrella that covers three major components. Those components are Image Mapping Tool, Mapping Logic and Image Conversion. The Image Mapping Tool main goal is to configure positions on top of an image while the Mapping Logic is designed to interpret those specified positions. Finally, Image Conversion purpose is to translate the images. In general the sProject enhances the mobile enrollment process drastically with faster configuration and better quality images for a better user experience.     Sistema de Generación y Seguimiento de Solicitudes de Asistencia a los Ciudadanos

    El 24 de septiembre de 2017, el huracán María azotó nuestra Isla de Puerto Rico y causó daños extremos y la necesidad de ayudar a muchas personas en condiciones difíciles. La necesidad de ser eficientes en los esfuerzos para ayudar a las personas requiere buena información y una mejor respuesta de parte de las agencias gubernamentales. En mi ciudad natal, Cayey, el alcalde organizó el personal y los recursos de la ciudad para ayudar a los ciudadanos en dificultades. Una herramienta que se utilizó para organizar este proyecto fue un sistema de reportes de problemas. Este sistema no fue optimizado ni en opciones ni en plataforma. Entendí que proporcionar al gobierno municipal una mejor herramienta para organizar las necesidades de nuestros ciudadanos sería de gran ayuda e incluso podría salvar vidas.
