Abstract

An extended analysis of a recent study in the recreational pool area of the Toro Negro Forest Reserve, optimizing previously proposed geometric changes with additional components in order to increase public safety. Low Duration, High Intensity Rainfall Events are considered in addition to regulatory 24 hour duration events with the purpose of providing evacuation times for unpredictable flash floods using hydrodynamic routing and storage modeling as a tool to establish operational rules for the proposed system. Key Terms - Flash Flood Reaction Time, High Intensity Rainfall, Hydrodynamic Routing, Short Duration Storm Events.
