dc.description.abstractEl aumento en la demanda de lentes intraoculares ha causado la necesidad de implementar una nueva línea de fabricación de dicho producto en la fábrica FX en Yauco, Puerto Rico. Esto se hizo con el fin de brindarle apoyo a la línea actual y lograr cumplir con la necesidad del mercado. Para lograr los objetivos, se siguió una serie de pasos que consistieron en recolectar y analizar información, estimar costos y adquirir los equipo con el fin de implementar el diseño de la línea. Esta línea fue creada con la capacidad de producir 4,500 unidades mensuales, aunque la producción de esta línea será de 833 unidades mensuales para satisfacer la demanda actual. Es posible que en el futuro esta línea trabaje a toda capacidad y/o que se tenga que implementar más líneas si la demanda sigue aumentando.
