Abstract
This design project consists in
developing a prototype equipment to reduce the
heat variability produced by the current heat shrink
installation process. A heat Shrink tubing is a
shrinkable plastic tubing commonly used to
insulate, protect and joint. The methodology
followed in this design project was the six sigma
development methodology DMADV which means:
Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, and Verify. The
implementation of this prototype equipment will
provide temperature and time process controls that
do not dependent on the operator’s perception and
will allow reduction of the heat variability of the
current process.
Key Terms - Heat Shrink Masking, Lead,
Temperature, Time.
