Abstract
The project will be divided by chapters and use the methodology of Lean Six Sigma “DMAIC”, which comprise define, measure, analyze, improve and control of packaging improvement time at Mini Bimbo Production Line of Holsum de Puerto Rico, Inc. The Company Holsum has a need to improve the packaging time of the mini bimbos that are consuming time and space. The mini bimbo production line is divided in two areas: Make-Up Area and Wrapping Area. The Make-Up Area is where the ingredients of the products are made and bake. The Wrapping Area is where the products are taken to wrap and sealed to be deliver. The objectives of this projects is to reduce the time delay of packaging this product to at least 10% Packaging Improvement Time at Mini Bimbo Production Line Capstone 1 Project – Define Phase 8 In addition there is an interest in improving the flow of the production process to reduce or eliminate any activities that are unnecessary or do not add value. The goal is to meet the company's expectations for improvement to achieve reductions in waste and streamlining the process.
